Groups > Youth
We at St.Mary's are working with the young people in our community in a number of different ways.
On Sunday morning we have the 10.45 Club. This group is aimed at young people aged 11-16 years old and we meet on Sunday mornings at 10.45 am. We firstly meet in the church with the rest of the congregation to worship God. We then go to The Coach House where we spend time as a group exploring the Christian faith and having fun. For more information contact John Graham on 0115 952 9692
During the week we also run R3, a house group for 16+.
Then on Friday evenings from 7.00 pm, we have CYC our Community Youth Club to which all young people from 10 years to 15 years old are invited . This is followed by the After Club
On Sunday evenings we have our Rock Solid Youth Club for 11 to 14 years, which combines fun and games with an opportunity to learn something about the Christian Faith, without being too stuffy! Alongside this we also have our R2 club for those over 15 years

Pictures from our Christmas Party
Well we certainly had a lot to make a Noise about this summer when 40 young people and 15 leaders set out on a mission to bless and serve Arnold through actions.
Young people from St Mary's, Arnold Methodist, Daybrook Baptist and People's Church, spent 2 days: 2nd-3 Sept, doing all sorts of things to help serve other people and give something back to our community. Many were suspicious as they opened their doors to a bunch of (well supervised) teenagers grinning from ear to ear, offering to wash their cars or bikes for absolutely no money! They also got stuck into some gardening for those that needed help and up at the Killisick allotments as well, and a group went litter picking on the Hobucks and cleared everything from cigarette butts to car tyres and sinks.
On the Saturday afternoon we helped to put on a youth festival at St Mary's Recreation ground in conjunction with the Gedling 4uth Youth Service. Activities included a mobile climbing wall, go karts, face painting, T-shirt designing, circus skills and later a free BBQ at the Family Centre, inflatables and performance by “The One Band” who travelled down from Scotland to take part in the event. The festival part of the Noise project was an idea that had come from the young people themselves as St Mary's had been given some money from the Archbishop Youth Mission and Outreach Fund. The young people wanted to put on an event that was top quality and fun, and something they could invite their friends to. One girl invited 4 friends who enjoyed it so much they wanted to know when the next one is! About 150 young people attended the festival in all.
It was an amazing time with teenagers from different churches getting to know each other as they served together, they became like family to each other and we had encouraging feedback from those whom they served about how polite and hard working they had been. They really gave young people a good name in the light of the bad press they often get.
Thank you to all those who helped make this project happen including; all the volunteer leaders and cooks, all those who brought in food and cakes for us to fuel us up, Gedling 4uth Youth Service, local parish Councillors who sponsored us financially, and of course those who allowed the young people to serve them and gave them a chance to shine.
